Community vs. Commodity

The above title can be better defined as

Competitive vs. Collaborative
Talk vs. Participate
Order vs. Chaos

Commodity is cheap, simple and far reaching where as Community is inexpensive, complex and slow growing

Commodity only has one winner where as In Community everyone benefits.

If you want to be a community rather than a commodity the Community is certainly not a buzz word. Building a community takes

  • A lot of time and patience
  • Requires commitment and honesty
  • One will have stop out going messages and start listening to incoming messages

Here are some tips that will help you build a community

  • Find ways to increase “win” for your customers
  • Create open communication between your customers…try and make them participate
  • Reward your customers

Just remember this “To Be Extraordinary, the first step is stop being Ordinary
