I have been using Google analytics for almost a year now. It has helped me a great deal in improving the user experience of my site.
Recently we saw an update in representation of all the reports in Google analytics. It really looks very cool to me. But here is a small problem that I am facing; I see two different reports when I compare the older and the new version of Google analytics.
Look at the total number of visitors referred by wikipedia in both the reports.

What could be the possible reason for this?

Hey, I have never experienced such difference….
I will do a recheck to see if something fishy there..

Hey Ani,
I think I have something here to add..
The previous version which GA is having was working on without calculating all the possible parameters and thus putting few assumtions while displaying the results….
But the new release(which is still in beta) is much more refined which takes care of most of the possible parameters..
Read the GA release documents, you will find that still google is working on refining the results so as to give us the exact picture..
hope this would help….
Hi Anirudh,
I am not getting any difference. May be, you have selected 2 different date range.

Hi,
You have noticed a good point. May be, the new version is still on improvement stage. But google analytics is really helpful.. Looking forward to see some more inventions from Google:)
It is not about the date range..As far as I could understand the older interface is getting updated before the newer interface. Even my reports are fine now.
Hi Anirudh,
Then it might be possible the two interface are connected with two different database. And it take some time to get updated both the database. As a result, we are getting some different result even for same period too.

Valid Point Ani - but still the differecne is there….I can see that…but very negligible…
for me even a small difference is a difference…
Lets see if I can plan a screenshot for you..
Thanks sv,
It would be nice if you can arrange a screen shot for me
May be temp cache difference based as both may be using different programing architecture. Date range difference can be other reason. Less sleep, hard work, extra TT can be some of other reasons too
