Let My Country Awake - Happy Independence Day
Here’s an inspirational poem from Rabindra Nath Tagore, a poet, musican, activist, writer and a philosopher.
It is taken from one of his most famous poems “Gitanjali”
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action—
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
Happy Independence Day to all

Yes, its high time to let our country awake. But the problem is, on 15 Aug, every body start remembering the memories of our freedom fighters, singing national anthem; and the BIG SHOTS show their ‘love’ for our countrymen. But from the very next day, we forget everything and start fighting with each other.
So lets start with a new promise…
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY !!
This is the day,
that our nation sings
this is the day,
that the liberty bell starts to ring
this is the day,
we all start to remember
what we stand for
and to celebrate our independence
we stand up high, as we
all start to cry
as we think about,
all that died
for you, for me, for our whole country
risking there life,
each and everyday heres a solute
to all that lay
SO LETS CELEBRATE THE LIBERTY.
Ma Tujhe Salam
Hi Anirudh,
Have a great time and enjoy every minute of your Independence Day. My Indian colleagues are celebrating the happy occasion here in Saudi Arabia.
A blessed day to all my Indian friends, and of course, your country’s great liberty day!
Thanks,
JAY HIND AND BANDE MATARAM
I always respect freedom fighters. It comes from straight from my heart and I can’t help it. It’s very difficult to maintain what you said Debashis. Earlier we fought against British conqueror and now we fight with Indian conqueror i.e. our country men. The reason/situation may be different. I hope you understand
Really appreciate the respect and love u have for the country…. We need more of people like my good great friend Annirudh… I firmly believe that for our country to prosper as a whole we should act a little more responsibly… The young indian needs to understand the fact that it is this country which has brought up and made us the person we are….We need to stop acting funny and irresponsibly…at least follow the good old saying ” Jis thaali mein khate hai usme nahi thukna chhayie” we often end up criticizing the country and making fun of people who talk about the country… express their love for the motherland….i hope people who read this will understand what i exactly mean…. Lets act a bit more responsibly at least by not making fun of people who actually are trying to play their part to spread awareness and expressing their love for the country…. lets listen to them… and lets follow them…
We owe a lot to the motherland…
Lets become good citizens…
lets be a little more responsible…
Lets love our country…
Lets respect it…
That was fabulous… few words describing the essence of freedom and making that feeling of gratitude expressed .
Best Regards,
Omi
