Close to 3000 shops and property and goods worth 200 crore has burned in last 48 hours.
We say Kolkata has modernized in last decade or so. Lot of new industries has come up, IT sectors have been booming. But do you really think that’s the case. Either they don’t have it or they don’t know how to use it.
BurraBazar has been burning for more than 48 hours now and our fire fighters don’t have the infrastructure to stop that and the biggest thing that they don’t have is intention. New technologies, equipments have come up.

Although the biggest shock was the way ruling party has taken this matter. Most of the big leaders of CPI(M) were just 4 kilometers away from the place of action but nobody bothered to visit that place. SHOCKING
And our honorable West Bengal Fire Services Minister Mr. Pratim Chatterjee says “Am I a astrologer who can say when will fire come under control.” But sir let me tell you one thing you are one of them who have been elected by and us and you are definitely answerable to every question we ask.
They had time for that fake rally, but not for the people who have elected them.
As a citizen of Kolkata I feel ashamed of not able to do anything but helplessly stand and see goods and shops burning.

About

The all-engulfing fire is still ablaze, even after 54 long hours.
But why?
Is it because the fire tenders do not have the equipments? Or the locality is too congested due to illegal erections to get the bronto lifts and super jets near “towering inferno”?
Is it because the fire tenders are incompetent to fight the blaze, or because the nature of fire is unknown due to the reluctance of the godown-owners to reveal what is stored inside (because that may lead them to bigger troubles)?
And what good would the visits from the politicians do when the cops and fire-fighters have already their hands full with the curious public and the blazing fire?
We need to find the hidden causes behind the fire, as not only the ”incompetent” fire tenders, but the “all competent” Army too has failed to get a leash on the fire.
You are right Anirudh. Our officials and ministers once again proved their carelessness here. Property worth crores of rupees were destroyed in this devastating fire. True, that the area is built in an unplanned and dense manner. But wasn’t this their duty to avoid such situations. Moreover when the force came in for the rescue operation, they were not able to even work hand in hand with them. Then is the scarcity of water and proper machines. Accidents are ‘unavoidable’, but if this is the condition of our state system then accidents are ‘for sure’.
Ya you are actually right. But then again what is new in it? our ministers were always busy with things that are important only to them.My question is aren’t they ashamed of the fact that they cannot extinguish a fire even in 48 hours? its also true that many of the buildings are built unplanned - but ain’t this their fault again?
When will the red brigade start realising that their actions are no more respected by the common man…and whwn will they start taking up proper step against an emergency situation?
So what is the problem?
Illegal buidings..Illegal traders..Good riddance.
The market was built breaking all civic laws. The local councillor is a BJP party member. Where is she?
Let’s face it. You live illegally..you die illegally..
May all illegal markets raze down..along with the west Indian vegetarian populace in it.
Is the market burned yet?
The problem is all the same everywhere…some places its the fire where as some place sit the buildings collapsing.
It is a vivid example of the influence of corruption of a monarchical rule.We claim to be democratic but owing to the deficiency of a efficient second party in Kolkata we are facing such a situation.
The CPIM form of gov are in power for a long time and it’s time now(like all other state rule) for them to quit. They are now exploiting their power. A second efficient form of gov is required.
i know one thing and dat is all da politicians and government officials are bloody animals….they cant give away a single chance to make money.only ARMY is what i can completly rely upon.My respect 4 army has grown so much after dis incident…they just provide us the satisfaction and safety which we find at home.anywhere they are in charge i know dey will do the best and will be successful in there mission.
those fire fighters are bloody dacoits.50% of them are havin age above 50 and the rest are suffering from obesity..out of 100 u can say only 5 r fit to work as fire fighter.as far as trust is concerned people dont trust them a bit.rather v had to b there to secure our goods from those fire fighters at night. before army joined in these fire fighters would stop there work after 11 in the night and wait till 6 in the mornin as media was not coverin them during that time period.
mr fire minister has a perfect attitude to become a dictator and just do what he wants.da way he speaks says it all. nice work mr minister..u burned everything that was out of the reach of fire and kept the market burning as long as u could.
this all seemed to be totally planned by the govt. a perfect plannin i must say which worked so well.a plan which effected around 10000 families(thats minimun i must say).
hopefully govt will not plan further for the people who have suffered. hope that the govt will not try to help coz the way they have helped us till now has brought 100s of famailes on road.
well done CPIM and well done corrupt officials..you all are the best in suckin everybit out of common people.
IS THIS OUR INDIAAAA…cant imagine whats goin on.
